The blood that the Lord Jesus shed on the cross has changed the course of human history. The main reason behind this was His blood was holy and the Bible says that He was a lamb without blemish – even ‘one’ mistake. So it was not just His three and a half years ministry or the last two days beginning from Gethsemane that made Him the true victor but it was a life full of sacrifice which began the second He was conceived of the Holy Ghost. Many a times we as Christians neglect His first thirty years of life which is actually the secret behind the value of His blood. Today let us learn a few secrets from His thirty years which made Him a perfect atonement for mankind.

The Bible records that Jesus has gone through every temptation that man has been through. In today’s post I will focus on what we as growing Christians should follow from His life.

1. Pride of life :

 Angels surrounded Him in His birth; people who did not know Him before glorified God surrounding Him. Gabriel visits His father and mother, continuously giving them instructions to guide the Child and God commands the baby’s name. When He was nearly two years old wise men from the east came with various gifts and fell at His feet and worshiped Him. Any young boy when He turns eight or ten years old and hears what happened at His birth and all these years His heart might naturally take pride in it , especially because He is someone chosen by God Himself. But we see when Jesus grew He grew with favour in the eyes of God and man. God stands against a proud heart.

I have personally witnessed a few young hearts who immediately after being saved were so humble to receive God’s anointing and all of a sudden lose this character of humility once they receive God’s magnificent plans through prophecy for their life.

Remember, never to let go of this humble heart even when you know you’re special to God.

2. Temptations to reveal His identity :

Throughout the life of Jesus this was yet another struggle He faced many times to reveal His true identity to His family, relatives, friends and even His enemies. But we see Jesus was very careful to show not who He was. This is another secret unique to learn. It is very easy to share a vision that has come upon your life to someone next to you especially when you are filled in the Spirit when the person has spoken the same prophecy to you and the like. Remember to be silent and do not show your identity easily. That is God’s part to do.

Jesus prayed, “Father, the hour has come; glorify your Son that the Son may glorify you”. Let God glorify you, don’t try it yourself, it might lead to misery.

3. Poverty :

From the Bible we know that Jesus’ family was poor. And being the eldest son He had support His father from a very tender age. God allows a few to go through such a life to test and see if He can entrust the stewardship in the future.

My dearest and most respected servant of God, if you are going through poverty continue to pray to God to bring you out of this but always remember that a man who is faithful in little will be made a ruler over many. God will honour your tears sometime soon.

4. Slow to Anger :

Today let us see only about the anger towards the traditions that hinder us from getting closer to God. For example, you could have been a member of a church for twenty long years and the very traditions you once cherished would have become an abomination because of your new found faith in Christ. And you begin to criticize the very church you grew up in.

But the Bible says that Jesus patiently attended the synagogue on every Sabbath even though many of the traditions were against God’s liking. He waited patiently for God’s appointed time to stand against those traditions. So must we.

5. Slow to speak:

Politely let me warn you not to criticise other servants of God simply because you have heard a sermon in the church today or simply because you have read three chapters from the Bible since this morning. Always remember that the same Lord who loves you loves the person whom you are speaking against in the same way without difference. Escape such judgements and think twice before you talk.

6. Learning to Pray:

Many of us, since Jesus was the son of God, we come to a conclusion that Prayer was a part of Jesus’ character from His childhood. But many a times we fail to realize that even Jesus Himself had to practice the habit of Praying. If you take a moment to think who Jesus was before the time He became a man, He was God almighty who need not depend on anybody for anything. The universe was at His command. But here is Jesus now in the form of an ordinary man now had to depend on God for every simple thing. So as Paul writes to Corinthians Jesus was no exception to a man to subject His body to learn to pray. The earlier you discover this truth and agree to this truth the better your ministry will become. So if you have a thirst to minister to God never take an excuse or ease yourself from practicing Prayers.

7. Obeying parents’ voice:

Especially when you become Spirit filled and gain a few experiences in Holy Spirit, one of the few persons you begin to despise in your eyes is your very own father and mother who has brought you this far.

Just because you gained a couple of experiences by receiving the Holy Spirit anointing you tend to think now you know more than your parent do. This is complete stupidity. I have seen families destroying their relationship, parents rising up against children and children raising their voices against their parents immediately as they receive such experiences in the Holy Spirit.

Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord. Colossians 3:20

Knowing these secrets of Jesus’ victory, I urge you to set your eyes only on Jesus and I pray that the Spirit of God may break and mould you from within to be a victorious servant for the Lord God, in Jesus name.
